Using these medicines safely
Tretinoin can dry and irritate the skin at the start of treatment. Tretinoin and isotretinoin can make the skin more sensitive to sunlight. Isotretinoin can cause serious birth defects and must not be used during pregnancy; pregnancy must be prevented while it is taken and for a period afterwards, with a doctor or dermatologist involved before starting. Betamethasone valerate is a potent steroid. The combination cream also contains clotrimazole, an antifungal: spread a thin layer over the area and do not cover it with a bandage unless a doctor has told you to.
